This is a required course for all first semester General Information Technology

well as a comfortable, positive attitude toward using English as a tool
in an IT working environment. All students will prepare and present a short
class presentation in English on an IT topic which will be chosen within
the first several weeks of the semester. Texts and articles will provide
the foundation for learning vocabulary, as well as the material for class
discussions. The written exam at the end of the semester will provide the
basis for 70% of the final grade; the presentation counts for 20% and one
or more separate assignments will be worth 10%.
There is an attendance requirement (75%) for this course; students who miss more than 3 classes this term will not be permitted to take the final exam at the end of the semester. Classes missed due to illness, etc. are included in the 3-miss limit.
